Overview

Catherine Farrell is a Reader in Public Management at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University.

She is programme director for the MSc Public Leadership award - https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/taught/courses/course/public-leadership

Catherine's research interests are in public boards in relation to their leadership and governance. She is currently researching different approaches to governance in both education and the fire and rescue and the association with effective leadership. In addition, she is working on a project on professionals and their careers in public services.  Catherine's research has been published in journals including Public Administration, Public Management Review, Policy and Politics, Local Government Studies, Human Relations and Industrial Relations.
