Overview

Responsibilities

I am a research associate working on the SPECIFIC LCBE2 project, contributing to research within the specialist area of Building Modelling. This includes predictions of the building energy performance and/or thermal comfort indoor before and after retrofit , performance optimisation analysis in terms of energy reduction, carbon reduction, cost-effectiveness. My modelling work intends to raise discussions within team, and is used to support decision making for strategies selection to feed back to the industrial partners. The modelling results are compared with post-retrofit monitoring data for model calibration and improvement. The combination of modelling and monitoring helps to understand building energy system, and track possible issues in real practice.

Research interests

My research interests lie within the areas of integrative low carbon and energy positive design, low carbon housing retrofit, modelling-led environmental performance prediction at a building, community or urban scale. I have also been involved in the testing and development of new energy modelling software in Welsh School of Architecture, such as VirVil Plugin for urban scale energy modelling. I am a LEED AP in Building Design and Construction (BD+C).
