Overview

I am a qualitative research associate based in Cardiff University's School of Healthcare Sciences, with a particular interest in the utlisation of ethnographic methods to better understand heatlhcare services and organisation. At present I am working on the Freedom to Speak up Local Guardian's project, and I previously worked on the EDARA study (Evaluating the Diversion of Alcohol Related Attendances).

My research interests are broad, and include: medical sociology, healthcare organisation and service improvement, the role of the third sector in health service delivery, values and ethics and how these inform practice, and staff and patient wellbeing.

Prior to my role here, I completed an ESRC funded PhD in Cardiff University's School of Social Sciences, where I utlised ethnographic methods to explore the relationship between values and practices on a third sector mental health garden project. I also contributed to a number of projects within the Social Sciences department as a research assistant, and spent some time working for the Welsh Government as a research intern.
