Overview

Dr Ilayda Nemlioglu has joined Cardiff Business School as a lecturer in Accounting and Finance Section, after completing her PhD from the Queen Mary University of London. Her research was jointly sponsored by the School of Business and Management and School of Law.  Before joining to Cardiff Business School, she worked as Associate Lecturer in the Queen Mary University of London. Her research mainly covers corporate finance, innovation and firm performance, pre and post-crisis analysis.

Research Interests

Corporate Finance, Firm-Level Analysis ( Pre and Post Financial Crisis), Intellectual Capital, Innovation, cross-country capital accumulation, institutional quality, market valuation and price uncertainty.

Currently working on exploring the role of institutional arrangements in explaining cross-country real exchange rate volatility by using inflationary monetary policy frameworks and governance indicators as well as trade agreements. In addition to that, I am also interested in examining the linkage between financial openness and the quality of governance in explaining currency stability in emerging markets.
