Overview

I am a psychiatrist and researcher at the Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Division of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences.

I am interested in research and clinical work from child to adult life, and mental health difficulties in this key transitional period, and I am dual-trained in child/adolescent and adult psychiatry.

I am also interested in the role of visual and digital media in mental health, and have studied illustration and graphic design at Central St Martins and Kingston University (London).

In 2018, I was awarded a Post Doctoral Fellowship by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and Health and Care Research Wales (HCRW) - to refine and conduct a trial of a digital programme for adolescent depression. This programme was developed as part of my NIHR/HCRW Doctoral Research Fellowship (2013-2017).

I am involved in other projects including the Early Prediction of Adolescent Depression (EPAD) study, the PAMAd study to evaluate mental health services in Georgia, the TRIUMPH youth mental health network and the co-development of ADHD digital resources. I am a teaching lead for child and adolescent psychiatry at Cardiff University.
