Dr Sara Sylvester

Sara Sylvester lectures and publishes across the fields of feminist art, digital media, celebrity studies and creative education. She is an associate lecturer at the School of Journalism, Media and Culture, Cardiff University.

Formerly a film and media educator with over twenty years as a secondary teacher, Sara is an advocate of creative learning and transmedia educational practices.

Her work focuses on performance, identity, social media and feminist art. She is also an interdisciplinary artist with specific interests in digital art and virtual performance.

Building upon her recent research she has developed a transfictive heteronym artist, Seren Sanclêr, to examine the creative potential of social media platforms as well as to explore in more depth transfictive identities
