Research interests

My primary interests lie in economic geology and the genesis of ore deposits, including lode-gold mineralisation and magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE deposits of ancient terranes. I also have a great interest in igneous petrology and geochemistry, in particular when applied to 2.5 - 4.0 billion year old portions of crust such as the Yilgarn Craton of Western Australia.

Gold mineralisation and tectonomagmatic evolution of the Yalgoo-Singleton Greenstone Belt, Western Australia

The Archaean lode-gold mineralisation of the Yalgoo Singleton Greenstone Belt (YSGB), situated 300km NNE of Perth in Western Australia, has been the focus of very limited academic study to date. Through pit mapping, drill core analysis and mineralogical studies, this project aims to characterise the gold mineralisation present along the well-endowed Mougooderra Shear Zone, determine the composition and timing of the fluids responsible and place the mineralising event(s) into the context of the structural and magmatic development of the greenstone belt.
