Overview

I am a Research Associate in the Cardiff Unit for Research and Evaluation in Medical and Dental Education (CUREMeDE) based in the School of Social Sciences. I’m currently working on projects relating to education and training in medicine and pharmacy.

Before starting to work in CUREMeDE, I completed my PhD in Language and Communication at Cardiff University. I have a special interest in digital communication and identity performance on social media. My PhD focussed specifically on performances of authenticity on Twitter disinformation accounts. My key areas of interest and experience relate primarily to digital discourse analysis and the use of mixed methods to explore multimodal data.

I enjoy contributing to interdisciplinary research projects and have previously hosted a funded interdisciplinary workshop targeted at better understanding the synergies between various fields in relation to disinformation, language, and identity performance research. As well as exploring the interplays between language, communication, and healthcare, I have engaged in collaborative work in the fields of ancient history and security, crime, and intelligence.
