Nicola Wynn

Overview

I am an interdisciplinary social science and humanities scholar interested in human relations with non-human 'nature'. Currently, I am especially interested in how these relations are enacted in the context of food systems, through practices of agriculture, horticulture, food processing, and beyond. 

I come from a background of practical engagement: supporting local food networks, community food growing, environmental education, and medical herbalism. All of these experiences have offered encounters with various ways that people engage with ‘nature’ and with non-human others ‘on the ground’, helping to flesh out a theoretical perspective, and leading to my particular interest in practices and skill. 

I am driven to explore those practices that might offer glimpses of, and opportunities for, better lived futures for humans and non-humans in the context of the Anthropocene.
