Ms Aathira Peedikaparambil Somasundaran

Overview

Aathira is a Ph.D. Candidate at Cardiff University. Her knowledge lies in the theories of modern art and architecture, the craft of the interior designer, and the interface between modernism, art, and architecture. She is interested in researching the transposition of modernist architecture to the Middle East and the diverse exchanges between artists and architects in interwar Beirut. As part of this research, she is conducting archival research in Paris and Beirut. 

She is currently brewing some teaching experience in the Undergraduate program at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University, - delivering seminars, workshops, and formative and summative assessments. With an elaborate experience in Interior Architecture in the Middle East, a Master's Degree in Interior Design, and having executed responsibilities related to space planning, site coordination, FF&E design, site inspection, landscape design, 3D rendering, visualization, lighting layouts, and client proposal meeting coordination, she has a hands-on industry experience which she could translate into her teaching and lead candidates into a better understanding of the design profession. Her familiarity with software like Primavera, MS Office, Excel, Revit, Lumion, 3DS Max, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator has definitely equipped me better for any teaching opportunity in the future.
