Overview
I am an ESRC funded PhD student with a special interest in encouraging diversity within the entrepreneurial community. My research focuses on gender and the provision of finance to entrepreneurial ventures.
I firmly believe in the importance of engagement between various stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the dissemination of academic research findings to the wider community. I am actively involved in both local and national industry events and also participate in events at Cardiff University.
In November 2019, I was pleased to be a panellist at an event giving local entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch for equity funding and support.
I represented The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in the Rising Stars of Research public event: https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/events/view/2486306-rising-stars-of-research

Research
My PhD thesis explores the gender differentiation in the funding ecosystem which sees women underfunded as business founders and underrepresented as investors.
In September 2020, I led a research team from Cardiff University and the University of South Wales to find solutions to the impact of Covid-19 on women entrepreneurs in Wales. Subsequently, as co-investigator on a successful ESRCIAA funding bid, I was able to work on a collaborative project with the research team, the Executive Education Department at Cardiff University and participants from the study, to deliver a bespoke programme of online workshops to address the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
