Overview

I am a writer, seminar tutor and Fellow at Cardiff University. I am particularly interested in Ekphrastic writing of short stories and novels and specialise in YA Fiction.  

I hold a Master of Arts with Distinction in Creative Writing: the Novel from Brunel University, a BSc in Education from St. John’s University, New York and a BA in Professional Photography from The University of West London.  

My research on eighteenth-century children’s literature has been published with the Literary Encyclopedia.

Research

My creative writing interests focus on YA Fiction, short story writing and novel writing. My research interests include eighteenth-century children’s literature, literacy, modern day and historic enslavement.

I have been a postgraduate tutor in English Literature and Creative Writing  at ENCAP for three years and teach the undergraduate modules: Critical Reading and Critical Writing, Creative Reading and Creative Writing
