Overview

I am a third-year PhD student in the School of Welsh, studying intergenerational language variation in mid-Wales. I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2013 (MA (Hons) Politics), then from the University of Leeds in 2015 (MA Linguistics). I'm originally from Leeds, Yorkshire, and I'm self-taught Welsh speaker, having learned in Machynlleth.

Research interests

Welsh/wider Celtic morphophonology, sociolinguistics.

Thesis

An investigation into the realisation of Initial Consonant Mutations.

To assess the extent to which Welsh is changing in a specific geographical area by analysing phonological and lexical variation across generations in one Welsh town.
