Rocky coast geomorphology: the key to unlocking our archaeological heritage My PhD is an interdisciplinary project coupling geomorphology and archaeology to understand the changing landscape through time at Tintagel, UK. My project has three main aspects which are;
- reconstructing the past landform
- understanding the current processes operating
- modelling the future evolution of the rocky coast
My PhD is funded by NERC as part of the GW4+ DTP, with a CASE award provided by English Heritage.
During my MSc by Research, I explored the changing dynamics of an intertidal shore platform by quantifying the rate of platform erosion via block detachment over a 78-year period, as well as concentrating on intertidal boulder dynamics and transport trajectories over a winter season.
