Overview

I started my PhD at Cardiff in October 2019. My research area is truth discovery, which is concerned with finding true facts given conflicting reports from data sources of of varying reliability and trustworthiness. The problem has mainly been studied in the data mining and crowdsourcing literature. I am interested in applying formal methods from AI and KR to gain new insight into the problem and compare it to related problems. Currently I am developing an axiomatic approach following the ideas of social choice theory. I am also interested in how abstract and structured argumentation may be applied to resolve conflicts in truth discovery.
