I am a PhD researcher within the Management, Employment and Organisation section of Cardiff Business School.

In the course of my research I have developed academic knowledge in the fields of management and organisation studies. I am interested in applying critical approaches in both of these fields, particularly with regards to issues such as power and identity in the workplace.

In addition to my research I teach on a number of undergraduate modules.

Thesis

Being Well at Work

My research seeks to explore the way that employee wellbeing has become a concern for organisations, and how this concern is manifested in workplace wellbeing programmes that encourage employees to live healthy lifestyles. I am interested in exploring workplace wellbeing in terms of the responsibility of both employer and employee, and what this means in terms of being fit or unfit for work.

My research is informed by the philosophy of Michel Foucault and utilises a qualitative research methodology. It employs semi-structured interviews, textual analysis, and is underpinned by the use of discourse analysis.
