Overview
My interest in pathogens began during an Erasmus funded project at the German Aerospace Center, examining passive contact-based killing of bacteria. After completing my MRes at Cardiff University where I explored the relationship between invasive species and their parasites, I worked alongside Nutriad (an international animal nutrition company) on a short project investigating new treatments and feed supplements to improve fish health.
I am currently undertaking a NERC GW4+ funded PhD, focusing on parasite control and treatment. By examining the behaviour and dynamics of a freshwater fish louse, I aim to develop novel control strategies to supplement current management schemes with support and field data from my CASE partner, the Environment Agency.
