Pathway to a diploma in Dental Hygiene, or a degree in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene
Due to an unprecedented high demand, all spaces on the Pathway are now filled for the academic year 2022/23 and we are no longer taking applications.
We also have enough applicants for the academic year 2023/24 and are no longer taking expressions of interest for that year's Pathway either.
Our part-time Pathway to Dental Hygiene has been designed for adults who want to return to education in order to apply to study.
Modules are taught in the evenings and at weekends. You will study in a relaxed and supportive environment.
After studying the Pathway, you will be able to make an application to study the diploma in Dental Hygiene (B750) or a degree in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene (B752).
How it works
The Pathway is made up of 60 credits.
Applicants need to have 5 GCSEs, grade A-C/9-4. This must include English language/Welsh (if you went to a Welsh-medium school).
- Public Policy for Health (20 credits)
- Introduction to Human Biology (20 credits)
- Research Methods (10 credits)
- Social Psychology (10 credits)
- Education and Society (20 credits)
Under normal circumstances, you can expect to complete the Pathway within one year, but you can take longer if needed.
