Teaching Chinese in a school room

Have you ever considered learning the basics of Mandarin Chinese? Perhaps you want to be involved in introducing it to your school, support your pupils with their learning, or maybe use it to develop yourself professionally or personally?

We are delighted to announce our next teacher training course for Chinese. Introduction to Mandarin for Teachers is held for an hour a week over six weeks, allowing you to learn some basics of the language. Taught by a native Chinese speaker, it is an interactive course held via Zoom. Once you have completed it, you will also have the opportunity to progress fully-funded onto Cardiff University’s Chinese for Beginners I course in January or May 22 if you so wish.

To express your interest please sign up here by 12pm on Wednesday 3 November. The course will start in the week commencing 8 November and finish in the week of 13 December. The day & time will be confirmed once everyone has expressed their preferences, and an email with details sent out the week before.

If you would like to read about former course participants, their experiences and what they went on to do with their Chinese, please read our news item here. To learn more about the Wales China Schools Project, you can also visit this page.
