We have an established reputation for performance, performance practice and innovative recordings.
Our research in historical performance influences concert practices worldwide. Areas of research interest include many aspects of both contemporary and historical keyboard performance, singing, and operatic production.
Our research agenda in these areas also informs the School of Music's recording series which has included:
- world premiere performances of orchestral works by Debussy
- research-related interpretations of music by Liszt
- works by contemporary composers, including staff and former students of the School.
