Dementia with Lewy bodies

Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is a form of dementia affecting around 80,000 people in the UK.

Very little is known about the cause of DLB, however it is thought to be explained by a combination of genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors. Our research is focused on the genetic element of the disease, and we aim to use the insights gleaned from our Alzheimer's disease research to improve understanding in this area.

By furthering our work in this area, we hope to understand why people develop the disease and translate this into better methods of diagnosis and new treatments in the future.
