Library services available during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

Access to our libraries and services

Cardiff University libraries are now open but we are currently unable to offer the following services to members of the public:

  • walk in access to electronic resources service
  • SCONUL Access scheme

Some membership schemes are available, please see the Visiting and membership pages for more information. Existing members of the library can borrow and return books from most sites, see our borrowing books page for more information.

Information about visiting our libraries

  • You must not visit any Cardiff University Library if you have symptoms of or have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been told to self-isolate by the NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect (TTP) service.
  • When entering any of our libraries you will need to scan a Cardiff University QR code to register Test, Trace and Protect information to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. For further information on Welsh Government Test, Trace and Protect guidance see Contact tracing: your questions | GOV.WALES
  • All visitors must correctly wear a face-covering (unless exempt).

Enquiry services are available through Ask a Librarian live chat, by email at library@cardiff.ac.uk or by phone on +44 (0)29 2087 4818 between 09:00-21:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00-17:00 at weekends during semester time, and 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday during vacations.
