Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility
Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) offers opportunities for students to study and staff to teach or train in higher education institutions (HEIs) beyond Europe.
Applications for projects are made on an annual basis and are coordinated by the Global Opportunities Team.
We currently have 9 ICM projects with institutions in Zambia, Namibia, Brazil, Georgia, Chile, India, Japan, Malawi and Russia.
Examples of current projects
University of Zambia and University of Namibia
Cardiff University College of Biomedical and Life Sciences is working with University of Namibia (UNAM) and University of Zambia (UNZA) to increase specialist skill levels.
This project allows for research-focussed staff exchanges and for Cardiff University to host incoming undergraduate students. The purpose is to enhance learning, expose students to novel learning techniques and develop educational standards for both UNAM and UNZA. The interaction is to act as a stimulus to develop learning and teaching in both institutions.
Ilia State University, Georgia
The current mobility project between Cardiff University School of Medicine and Ilia State University (ISU) builds on the treatment manual for evidence-based psychological treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the train the trainer programme for its delivery and dissemination.
Incoming MSc students, incoming staff training and outgoing staff teaching mobilities will increase knowledge and capability within ISU and Georgia to effectively disseminate the PTSD intervention through the train the trainer programme and evaluate the effectiveness of this and other mental health initiatives.
Universidade de Brasilia and Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Cardiff University School of Social Sciences has established a relationship with the prestigious Brazilian Universities, Universidade de Brasillia and Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
This project supports incoming and outgoing mobilities for teachers and PhD students. The aim of this project is to share educational and research-led teaching innovation, identify opportunities for joint research and curriculum development, and to deliver research workshops to help develop methodological and research skills in both quantitative and qualitative research.
