Venues and travel

Our graduation ceremonies are held in the prestigious St David's Hall in Cardiff city centre with registration, academic dress collection and official photography taking place in City Hall.

Please note that there is currently some travel disruption in the city centre. Follow @cardiffcouncil and @swpolice Twitter accounts for the latest updates.

St David's Hall

Located in the heart of Cardiff city centre, St David's Hall is a performing arts and conference venue, making it the perfect setting for our thousands of graduating students.

Getting to St David's Hall couldn't be easier, as Cardiff is readily accessible from all parts of the world by road, rail and air.

Parking at St David's Hall

Although there are no parking facilities at St David's Hall, there are a number of city centre car parks close by. Full details can be found on the St David's Hall website.

However you travel to your ceremony, please ensure you allow plenty of time for your journey.

Quiet room

A quiet room will be available for graduates and guests to use for contemplation, meditation, and personal prayer. Please speak to a member of staff on the day who will be able to direct you.

City Hall

On the day of your graduation, City Hall will be the first place for you and your guest to go. Here you will collect your tickets, registration card, seat number and change into your academic dress.

The official photography studio is also located here.

You will then walk to St David's Hall where your graduation ceremony takes place.

Please allow a minimum of ten minutes to walk between these two venues.

There is limited public street parking near City Hall where blue badge holders can park free of charge. Visit the Cardiff City Hall website for more details.
