Our graduation ceremonies are one of the highlights of the academic year. We understand that your friends and family are keen to attend and celebrate your achievements, and we try to ensure a fair allocation of tickets for ceremonies.
Students are guaranteed a maximum of two free guest tickets for family or friends if they respond to their invitation before the deadline of Monday 15 June 2020. Students do not need a ticket for themselves.
We do not recommend that children are taken to the ceremony, due to the length and formal nature of the proceedings. Any child over the age of two will also require a separate guest ticket to attend.
Please note that all tickets for Graduation guarantee entry to both your ceremony and your school reception event.
Additional guest tickets
If you would like more than two guest tickets, additional tickets may be available to purchase in June. We cannot guarantee the availability of any additional tickets before then, as demand for each ceremony varies and the availability of additional tickets will depend upon the demand for the initial allocation of free guest tickets.
We will send you an email in June telling you when the schedule for the release of additional tickets is due to be published. Any additional guest tickets will only be available to purchase through SIMS Online, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will cost £20 each. Please note that the email will be sent to your @cardiff.ac.uk email address.
- If there are any spare tickets, they may be available to purchase on the day of the ceremony however we strongly advise against making expensive travel arrangements for guests on the expectation of extra tickets. These guests are welcome to enjoy the day with you, but please note that if they do not have tickets for St David's Hall then they will not be admitted to the ceremony or the School event.
- The ceremonies will be broadcast live on the internet, so can be enjoyed by those not attending the ceremony in person. The ceremonies will also be shown in Y Plas at the Students' Union.
