Young child playing with building blocks

It can be challenging to know which sources to trust when it comes to understanding child development. Wouldn’t it be great to learn more about children’s social, emotional and mental growth from expert researchers and scientists?

Parents, come spend an evening with our researchers from the recently launched Cardiff University Centre for Human Developmental Science (CUCHDS) and School of Psychology while we step inside the minds of children. Grab a coffee and learn more about children’s psychological growth from our experts.

We’ll be answering your burning questions and chatting with you face-to-face about our cutting-edge research. Browse our stations focused on topics such as babies and emotions, kids and language, understanding autism and more!

You can even take part in our fun quiz to test your knowledge and win prizes. Across the evening, our staff and students from the CUCHDS will be on hand to help you find out more about how children’s minds develop, how to go about finding reliable sources of information and how to debug tricky science jargon that you might see in the news.

This event is family friendly. Children are able to come take part in our psychology-themed activities in the kid’s corner where we will have arts, crafts, and exciting games to play!

If you'd like to get in touch with any questions about the event, please contact Kelsey at frewink@cardiff.ac.uk

*We would like to apologise that due to the layout of the space, we are unable to provide a quiet room for those with autism, anxiety, or sensory issues.*
