Food

Professor Tim Lang, Professor of Food Policy at City, Univeristy of London

The UK food system is already stretched. By many measures, it is unsustainable, contributes to massive health externalities, and is locked into an economic dynamic which squeezes primary producers. What can be done about this? Will Brexit – whatever its form – do anything better? Could a regional-based UK food system provide us with healthy and sustainable diets? What, in short, does the UK want from its food system?

Join us for an exploration into how UK farming and food can contribute to a rebuilding of ecosystems, including discussion on how a benchmark diet could be applied to UK consumers, and its implications for health and eating habits.
