Science Engagement as Global Diplomacy

Professor Robin Grimes, Chief Scientific Advisor to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, explores the UK government’s work on science diplomacy.

In an area often seen by the public as secretive and complex, Robin will explain how science is enhancing our ability to act in ways that advance our national needs and also address global challenges. He will show that science and diplomacy are mutually helpful, and that in some cases scientists are directly involved in building our relations with other countries.This event is organised by the WCIA in partnership with the Learned Society of Wales and Cardiff University.
