Mae’n bleser gan Sophie Howe, Comisiynydd Cenedlaethau’r Dyfodol Cymru groesawu sefydlydd The Big Issue ac aelod o’r meinciau croes, yr Arglwydd Bird MBE, i gyflwyno Darlith Flynyddol Gyntaf Comisiynydd Cenedlaethau’r Dyfodol Cymru.

Fel ymgyrchydd blaengar dros wrthdlodi a chefnogydd brwdfrydig gwaith Comisiynydd Cenedlaethau’r Dyfodol Cymru cyntaf, bydd yr Arglwydd Bird yn siarad am bwysigrwydd mynd i’r afael ag argyfyngau heddiw, yn ogystal â gweithio i atal argyfyngau yfory. Yn seiliedig ar brofiadau bywyd yn amrywio o dlodi i fod yn entrepreneur busnes llwyddiannus, ac o garchar i’r Senedd, bydd yr Arglwydd Bird yn galw am fuddsoddi hirdymor mewn rhaglenni ymyrraeth gynnar ac atal, fel rhan o flaenoriaethau cenedlaethau’r dyfodol ar draws pob maes llunio polisi yn y DU.

Yīn and Yáng: Investing in Today for a Better Tomorrow – Lord John Bird MBE

Sophie Howe, Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, is pleased to welcome The Big Issue founder and crossbench peer, Lord Bird MBE, to deliver the inaugural Well-being of Future Generations Commissioner for Wales" Annual Lecture.

As a prominent anti-poverty campaigner and keen supporter of the work of the first Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, Lord Bird will speak about the importance of tackling today"s crises, as well as working to prevent tomorrow"s. Drawing on his life experiences from poverty to successful business entrepreneur, and from prison to the Parliament, Lord Bird will call for long-term investment in upstream, early intervention and prevention programmes, as part of prioritising the well-being of future generations across every area of UK policy-making.

Refreshments will be available. Lecture to start at 19:00.
