Japanese Programme Fair
This event has ended.
If you would like to attend, please register your attendance by Friday 1 June for catering purposes.
(You don't have to register if you would like to attend the graduate talk and speech contest only.)
The Japanese Programme Fair is co-hosted by the School of Modern Languages, the Japanese Programme and Wales Japan Club, and is supported by the Japan Foundation London. The event will start with a talk by Cardiff University alumni and graduate of the Japanese Programme, Alexandros Tanti. This will be followed by a speech contest with first, second and final year Japanese students.
Alexandros Tanti is a graduate of the Japanese programme. The talk is titled “My Career After Studying Japanese at Cardiff University” and will be followed by a question and answer session. The talk will be given in the medium of English. If you would like to contribute in Welsh during the question and answer part of the event, simultaneous translation from Welsh to English may be provided if there is sufficient demand.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 1 June if you would like to ask questions in the medium of Welsh and you will be notified whether the simultaneous translation service will be available.
Following the talk and question and answer session, a speech contest will take place wherein three final year students will give presentations about Japanese society and culture. The speech contest will be carried out entirely in the Japanese language and an internship opportunity with a member of the Wales Japan Club will be offered the first prize winner.
Following the distribution of the internship to the first prize winner, there will be a wine reception and buffet dinner. A programme for the event is available.
