Cancer awareness event at Techniquest

This one-day cancer awareness event at Techniquest Science Museum will include display and discussion of the artwork created by pupils from Merthyr Tydfil inspired by a research day at Cardiff University Systems Immunity Research Institute; interactive games that demonstrate how our immune system struggles to fight off cancer, and a planetarium show (funded by the Wellcome Trust) about how scientists at Cardiff University are reprogramming the immune system to fight off cancer. Cancer Research UK, Tenovus Cancer charity and representatives from Cardiff University will be attending the event. A new awareness campaign will also be launched as part of the event to let the public know about the amazing medical research being performed at Cardiff University Systems Immunity Research Institute.
