Fifty years ago this month, Paratroopers shot dead 13 innocent civil rights marchers in Northern Ireland. It was one of the British Army's darkest days - forever known as "Bloody Sunday". No soldier has been prosecuted for the event, which helped fuel the IRA's armed campaign over the violent decades ahead and set back the chances of peace for more than 20 years. Researchers at Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre and School of Law and Politics will host a public interview and Q&A session with Prof Niall Ó Dochartaigh, professor of Political Science at the National University of Ireland Galway, and Dr Charlotte Barcat, Lecturer in British History at the University of Nantes to analyse what happened and why and assessing Bloody Sunday's legacy today.

Presented by Dr Giada Lagana, Dr Thomas Leahy & Dr Jonathan Kirkup - Cardiff University
