Aardman Animations and Employee Ownership – an interview with David Sproxton, Co-Founder and Trustee
In November 2018, Aardman co-founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton announced that they were preparing the company for continued success over the next few decades by transferring the company into Employee Ownership, effectively selling the company to the workforce. This transfer was aimed at ensuring that Aardman remained independent, thus securing the creative legacy and culture of the company for many decades to come.
In 2020, the number of employee-owned businesses grew by 30% and looks set to exceed that in 2021.
