The City in 2040: Governing the Future City

We aim to raise the sights of academics and practitioners in thinking about the challenges and opportunities of the fu- ture. There will be three short presentations then a panel and audience discussion.

The event will be chaired by Dr Juliet Davis, Head of School, Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University

There will be three short presentations then a panel and audience discussion:

1) 'Governance and Sustainability in the Future City' Bernice Lee, OBE, Research Director, Futures, Chatham House

2) 'Can Tech Tame Future Cities Or Do Future Cities Need to Tame Tech?’ Dr Anthony Townsend, President, Star City Group and Urbanist-In-Residence at Cornell Tech

3) 'Governing for the Citizens of the Future' Jane Davidson, author of #futuregen and Pro Vice- Chancellor Emeritus at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
