Accelerating Computer Science

The Cardiff Technocamps Hub within the School of Computer Science & Informatics will be launching our Accelerating Computer Science programme for Year 12 A/S  Computer Science students across Wales.

We will be providing FREE on -line revision sessions to Year 12 WJEC Computer Science students during October half term. This programme will be delivered by an experienced Computer Science educator who has substantial experience of teaching and leading WJEC GCSE Computer Science.

The October sessions will focus on the following aspects of the WJEC AS Computer Science Unit 1 specification:

• Hardware and communication
• Logical operations
• Data representation and data types
• The operating system
• Algorithms and programs
• Principles of programming
• Software engineering
• Program construction
• Data security
• Ethical and legal issues

October 28th and 29th

Times

9.30 – 10.00 – on -line registration

10.00 am – 2.30pm – workshop sessions (1/2 hour break for lunch)

Numbers

The event is free to learners to attend.  However, we do only have a limited number of spaces available and therefore politely request that learners only sign up to attend the event if they are able to fully commit to attendance on both days during the allocated times.
