I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying at Cardiff University, and feel that both the BSc Environmental Geosciences, and MSc Applied Environmental Geology courses enabled me to immediately progress into working as an environmental consultant.
Cardiff is a great city and the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences is extremely well regarded. If I had to pick my favourite thing about studying at Cardiff University, it would be the range of opportunities provided; from classroom lectures to overseas fieldtrips and industry placements. All of which gave me the initial skills, confidence, and knowledge to enter the working world.
A career in project management
I started my career working at WSP, a professional services firms advising on contaminated land risk for UK property transactions. I now project manage the delivery of building energy reports, which provide valuable sustainability advice for our clients.
I am also on part time secondment to the UK Green Building Council where I am the Local network coordinator for South West and am responsible for engaging with local members and organising sustainability-focused knowledge sharing events.
