Proper general decomposition for convection-diffusion equations
The student will learn about different methods for discretising partial differential equations and iterative methods for solving the resulting systems of algebraic equations.
This project is advertised as part of the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership. It is currently not available to self-funded applicants.
The student will learn about techniques for analysing the convergence of numerical approximations. There will also be an element of scientific computing and the student will develop programming skills using MATLAB, C++ etc.
