Ymchwil

My previous work has been on semiconductor nano-optics, quantum physics and photonics. Recent publications include demonstration of the non-linear response of a single quantum dot being used to “sort” photons one-by-one (A. J. Bennett et al, Nature Nanotechnology 11, 857–860 (2016)) and the first demonstration of a phase super-resolution sensor operating with a single photon source (A. J. Bennett et al, Science Advances 2 (4) e1501256 (2016)).

Bywgraffiad

After an undergraduate degree at Cambridge and a PhD at Imperial College I worked as a post-doc at Imperial College on Molecular Beam Epitaxy of III-V semiconductors. I then joined Toshiba Research Europe Limited in Cambridge to work on semiconductor quantum technology using single InAs/GaAs quantum dots, where I became Team Leader. I joined Cardiff University in 2017 to work with the Institute for Compound Semiconductors.

Meysydd goruchwyliaeth

I am interested in taking on students with enthusiasm. An interest in quantum optics is also useful.
