Dr Elena Bellomo holds a Ph.D. in Medieval History from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano, Italy (2001). She is a specialist in medieval Genoa, the crusades and the medieval military-religious orders, particularly the Order of the Temple.
Her publications on medieval Genoa, the First Crusade and the Templars include A servizio di Dio e del Santo Sepolcro: Caffaro e l'Oriente latino (2003) and The Templar Order in North-West Italy: 1142–c.1330 (2008).
