My research uses field observations, petrology, analytical geochemistry and micro-analysis to help understand the behaviour of ‘critical’ metals – metals which are crucial for high-tech industry, but are associated with a supply risk – in magmatic and hydrothermal systems. My current focus is investigating the geochemistry of Tellurium and Selenium in the magmatic and magmatic-hydrothermal environment, and investigating their source and distribution in ore deposits in order to help find new supplies of these essential elements.
