Dr Read teaches and researches on disability. Her recent work has focused on the prevalence and measurement of childhood disability in the UK, on the characteristics and circumstances of the children and their households and on service provision to meet their needs more effectively. She works closely with Professor Luke Clements at the Law School in the areas of disability and human rights. Janet Read will be contributing to the School's specialised LLM programme route in Social Care Law and to the work of the Centre for Health and Social Care Law within the School.
