Janet Israel is a Lecturer within the Cardiff School of Nursing and Midwifery Studies. A qualified nurse, midwife and teacher of adult education with a keen interest in newborn screening, genetics and education. Practice. A qualified nurse and midwife for 20 years plus with national and international experience. Has worked as a lecturer in Cardiff School of Nursing and Midwifery Studies since 1998 with a pre and post registration education remit. Has developed into the field of research over the last 5- 6 years following a Health Professions Wales Sponsorship award and a Cardiff University, School of nursing and Midwifery Studies secondment. Has worked closely with their Genetics foci team and the Newborn Screening Wales Department.
