Rhys Pullin is currently a Senior Lecturer in Performance Engineering working in the area of Non-destructive Evaluation (NDE). His primary area of research is Structural Health Monitoring using acoustic emission and acousto-ultrasonics in metallic and composite aerospace components. More recently however research work has focused on energy harvesting using radio frequency transmission, vibration and thermal differences and wireless data transmission with the aim of developing autonomous SHM systems for aerospace applications. Dr Pullin has completed research programmes for Airbus, Boeing, EADS, Mercedes F1, Ministry of Defence, Centre for Defence Enterprise and SKF. Finally Dr Pullin is a member of the National Committee for the British Society of Strain Measurement and the Health Management and Prognostics National Technical Committee.
