Alena Drieschovaâs research interests lie at the intersections of international relations theory (in particular International Political Sociology), qualitative methodology, European history, the processes of European integration, and environmental governance. Alenaâs PhD dissertation at the University of Toronto provides a macro-historical analysis of changes of international orders based on changes in perceivable forms of representation, such as diplomatic practices, representative buildings, or warfare practices. Alena holds Masterâs degrees from the University of Oxford (with distinction) and from the University of Economics in Prague (with distinction). She was a visiting scholar at the International Water Management Institute based in Sri Lanka, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Oregon State University. She has held several financial awards from the University of Toronto, the University of Economics in Prague, and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship. Her work has been published in a range of peer reviewed journals, including Global Environmental Change, Climatic Change, and International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law, and Economics.
