I am a quantitative researcher in the WISERD Education Data Lab.
I am a Geographer and my main research interests focus on quantitative research methodology and its application in the field of social sciences. I also have expertise in Urban Geography, Urban Resilience and Geographic Information System (GIS).
Prior to joining Cardiff University, I worked as a Research Associate at the University of Lyon (France) as well as a Teaching Associate at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).

Alexandra has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).
Alexandra has also obtained three master degrees, one in Territorial Planning and Environmental Studies at Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (France), another in Environmental Science at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania) and a third one in Tourism and Regional Development at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).
Alexandra obtained her PhD in Geography and Urban Planning in 2019 at the University of Lyon under the joint supervision of Prof. Lydia Coudroy de Lille (University of Lyon) and Prof. Octavian Groza (Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi).

Prior to joining Cardiff University, Alexandra worked as a Teaching Associate at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania) providing undergraduate courses (Human Geography; Cartography and Geomatics; Environmental Geography).
Prior to joining Cardiff University, Alexandra worked as a Research Associate at the University of Lyon (France) on a research project dealing with the impact of Globalisation on the cultural flows.
Her Phd thesis focused on identifying land-use patterns and dynamics in cities from Central and Eastern Europe before and after the fall of the communism.
