Trosolwyg
I am a quantitative researcher in the WISERD Education Data Lab.
I am a Geographer and my main research interests focus on quantitative research methodology and its application in the field of social sciences. I also have expertise in Urban Geography, Urban Resilience and Geographic Information System (GIS).
Prior to joining Cardiff University, I worked as a Research Associate at the University of Lyon (France) as well as a Teaching Associate at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).

Ymchwil
Rwy'n ymchwilydd meintiol yn Labordy Data Addysg WISERD ac ADR Cymru, lle mae fy nghefndir academaidd mewn Daearyddiaeth yn llywio fy ngwaith ar gymhwyso methodoleg ymchwil feintiol yn y gwyddorau cymdeithasol. Gyda ffocws ar Ddaearyddiaeth Drefol, Gwydnwch Trefol, a System Gwybodaeth Ddaearyddol (GIS), rwyf wedi datblygu arbenigedd mewn defnyddio technegau meintiol i ddadansoddi ffenomenau cymdeithasol cymhleth.
O fewn Labordy Data Addysg WISERD ac ADR Cymru, mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar ddefnyddio dadansoddiad meintiol i archwilio gwahaniaethau addysgol a nodi strategaethau ar gyfer gwella canlyniadau addysgol. Rwyf wedi ymrwymo i gynhyrchu polisïau sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth sy'n hyrwyddo tegwch addysgol a mynediad i bawb.
Yn wir, mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn ymestyn y tu hwnt i fethodoleg ymchwil feintiol ac yn cynnwys arbenigedd mewn daearyddiaeth ddynol, daearyddiaeth drefol, daearyddiaeth amgylcheddol, gwytnwch trefol, dadansoddi gofodol a GIS. Mae fy mhrofiad blaenorol yn cynnwys gweithio fel cydymaith ymchwil ym Mhrifysgol Lyon, lle cyfrannais at brosiect ymchwil ar effaith globaleiddio ar lifoedd diwylliannol.
Addysgu
Cyn ymuno â Phrifysgol Caerdydd, roeddwn yn dal swydd Cymrawd Dysgu ym Mhrifysgol Iasi (Romania) Alexandru Ioan Cuza, lle roeddwn yn dysgu cyrsiau, seminarau a thiwtorialau israddedig ac ôl-raddedig. Roedd fy mhortffolio addysgu yn cwmpasu ystod o bynciau, gan gynnwys Daearyddiaeth Ddynol, Daearyddiaeth Drefol, Cartograffeg a Geomateg, Daearyddiaeth Amgylcheddol, a GIS.
Yn y rôl hon, roeddwn i'n gyfrifol am ddarparu addysgu o ansawdd uchel a diddorol a hwyluso dysgu gweithredol yn yr ystafell ddosbarth. Roedd fy ymagwedd addysgu yn blaenoriaethu rhoi'r wybodaeth a'r sgiliau sydd eu hangen ar fyfyrwyr i gymhwyso egwyddorion daearyddol i heriau'r byd go iawn.
Bywgraffiad
Alexandra has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).
Alexandra has also obtained three master degrees, one in Territorial Planning and Environmental Studies at Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (France), another in Environmental Science at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania) and a third one in Tourism and Regional Development at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).
Alexandra obtained her PhD in Geography and Urban Planning in 2019 at the University of Lyon under the joint supervision of Prof. Lydia Coudroy de Lille (University of Lyon) and Prof. Octavian Groza (Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi).
