Dr Nora Jansen is a Research Fellow for the Open Source Communications, Analytics and Research (OSCAR) group within Cardiff University’s Crime and Security Research Institute (CSRI).
Prior to joining the CSRI in July 2020, Nora studied “Management of Information Systems” at the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, where she obtained her Master’s degree. In January 2020, she completed her PhD on the "Real-time Detection of Buzzes in Online Social Networks" at the Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. In 2019, Nora was a visiting researcher looking at reaction strategies to online firestorms at the University of Adelaide, South Australia.
Nora's research interests include the diffusion of information, the causes and consequences of disinformation, as well as policing methods and technologies.
