Kate Darby is a RIBA chartered architect and is principal of KDA (Katy Darby Architects), a practice which aims to make bespoke buildings that are locally distinctive and particular to the needs and characteristics of each commission.
She has combined practice with teaching and research since 1997. Her project Croft Lodge Studio (2017), co-designed with David Connor Design, won the RIBA West Midlands Regional Award 2017 and the RIBA West Midlands Small Project of the Year Award 2017. The project is also a nominee of the 2017 Beazley Designs of the Year (currently on display at the Design Museum in London).
