Responsibilities
Xiaojun is a research associate working on the SPECIFIC LCBE2 project, contributing to research within the specialist area of Building Modelling. For each one of the 10 Low Carbon Built Environment (LCBE) demonstration projects, she predicts the building energy performance and/or thermal comfort indoor before and after retrofit based on surveyed information and monitoring data available, and carries out performance optimisation analysis for potential strategies or package of strategies in terms of energy reduction, carbon reduction, cost-effectiveness. Her modelling work intends to raise discussions within team, and is used to support decision making for strategies selection to feed back to the industrial partners. The modelling results will be compared with post-retrofit monitoring data for model calibration and improvement. The combination of modelling and monitoring will help to understand building energy system, and track possible issues in real practice. She is also involved in site surveys, report preparation, and research dissemination through conference and journal publication.
