My main research interests are around marginalized children and young people, which has seen me focus on looked-after children for both my Master’s degree and PhD, within the context of education and sport. I have a particular interest in promoting youth voice within research and I have assisted on a national research project commissioned by the third sector that sought looked-after young people’s perceptions of being in care. My current role as a research associate at CASCADE focuses on the broader context of children’s social care. Specifically, I am involved in research that will contribute towards the development of a new What Works Centre for Children’s Social Care, funded by the Department for Education.
