0.60A, Sgwâr Canolog, Caerdydd, CF10 1FS

Sara Sylvester has been a Media and Film educator for over twenty years.

A former Head of department at a secondary school she is now an associate lecturer at Cardiff University who also works freelance as an e-learner designer, consultant, examiner, researcher and artist. She has collaborated as a creative practitioner and creative agent as part of the Arts Council of Wales’ Lead Creative School Scheme.

The focus of her recent research has explored the growing interest in fictive art in relation to digital technology and social media as well as documenting the current resurgence in feminist art. She passed her viva in March 2017. The creative element of her PhD puts into practice the constructive process of developing a fictive persona, Seren Sanclêr, as a transfictive heteronym, whilst also demonstrating the potential of digital media as more than simply a self-branding tool but a new art form to explore.
